A graduate of University of the Arts, Steven Bradshaw has appeared as a soloist with many of the premier ensembles on the East Coast, including The Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, Tempesta di Mare, Piffaro, Bang on a Can, and Network for New Music. He is a founding member of The Crossing, an award-winning vocal ensemble fully dedicated to the performance of new compositions. In addition to performing with his quartet, The Laughing Bird, and composing music for his experimental group, w A S H I N G T O N  p R O J E C T, he performs regularly with the grammy award-winning Roomful of TeethSeraphic Fire, The Choir of Trinity Wall Street, Spire, The Thirteen, Choral Arts Philadelphia, The Bach Collegium of Philadelphia, Fuma Sacra, Opera Philadelphia, The Buxtehude Consort, The Philadelphia Singers, and the choir of St. Mark’s Church in Center City, Philadelphia. Recent engagements included performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and The Chicago Bach Project. In addition to his full-time singing career, Steven is also a dedicated visual artist. Recently, he collaborated with musician Donald Nally for the Pew Center for the Arts and Heritage on an installation called “Informal Crossing,” part of their series entitled “Shelf Life.” He contributed a large-scale visual component to The Crossing’s premier performance of The Fifth Century by Gavin Bryars with PRISM saxophone quartet. He made his gallery debut at Kung Fu Necktie in 2011 and has since been featured at Arch Enemy Arts (Philadelphia, PA.), Gristle Tattoo and Gallery (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and, most recently, Grindcore House (Philadelphia, PA.), in the two-artist exhibition, “R U I N E D.”
